be inspired.

“Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.”

I love that my life is that quote! I am categorically obsessed with event design, especially weddings! I was lucky enough to attend Engage at The Breakers this past week.

Not only was the resort spectacularly wonderful, but I was blown away by my contemporaries in the event business.  It was beyond fabulous, just check out some of the speakers!!

There is nothing like being in a room filled with that many deliciously creative people to get your juices flowing! We were presented with some of the best trends in events and must say, just generally treated like royalty! (Did I mention how much I love my job??)

The incredible Sylvia Weinstock decorated a cake for us. At 80+ years, her energy was literally setting the room on fire. In fact, at the gala, she was the first one on the dance floor! Speaking of the gala…get a load of these:

The gorgeous couple you see here, are actually waiters on stilts, cutting champagne glasses from the ribbon streamers hanging from the ceiling! So creative!

Table settings were lush and Gorg, of course but they had nothing on the food presentation.

That was the appetizer…I must confess I intended to get a picture of the main course, but I devoured it! But the Pièce de résistance was the dessert presentation:

This was an ice cream sundae, with chocolate and caramel sauce and multiple candy toppings in hand made dark chocolate cups, can you say delish?? (my waist line can!)

And look who I just happened to run in to?

Randy Fenoli!

He’s is incredible! Whip smart, hilarious, and incredibly stylish, I would Say Yes to His Dress (reccomendation) anytime.  Check back later in the week for a post on all the cool new vendors I met at Engage.

After this incredible overwhelming creative conference, I spent a few days decompressing and vacationing in Miami with friends. It is so important to take time for yourself to reboot and recharge. Too often in our hectic lives, we rush from work to home and back again forgetting that to actually have a good life, you must remember to live it! I’m lucky in that I love what I do, but even I need to spend some time off recharging my batteries. So much inspiration for me comes from traveling and Miami is chock full of incredible colors, warm and beautiful people and incredible dining. All the same things that make up and incredible event! Ciao!
